Can I accept international payments?
Yes! If you have clients located outside of the United States, you can still use ClientPay to collect payments. Review the guidelines below for handling international card brands and addresses.
Credit and Debit Cards
All ClientPay accounts are natively equipped to accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
American Express: This is an optional brand. Please check your merchant services agreement or contact ClientPay Support if you are unsure if this is enabled for your account.
Compatibility: As long as the physical card bears the logo of a brand enabled on your account, it can be processed through ClientPay.
Billing Address Formatting
While our products team works on full international address support, please use the following workarounds for the current billing fields:
Required Fields: Only the Street Address and Zip Code fields are mandatory.
Zip/Postal Code: This field is unformatted. You can enter 5-digit or 9-digit U.S. numerical codes, or alphanumeric international postal codes.
U.S. Labels: Although fields are currently labeled for U.S. formats, entering the international street address and postal code will allow the transaction to proceed.
ACH (Electronic Checks)
International customers are able to enter ACH information into the system; however, the transaction must originate from a U.S.-based bank account.
